Globally, there are three main coffee-growing regions: Central and South America, Africa and the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. These fall along the equatorial zone known as the ‘Coffee Belt’ – a band between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Despite being located within similar latitudes, each region produces coffee with distinctive tasting notes thanks to unique combinations of soil, climate, altitude, and processing.

South and Central America sits at the heart of the Coffee Belt and is the world’s largest coffee-producing area.
