The History of Tea in Britain

Tea is without a doubt the most popular drink in the UK today, with over 100 million cups being consumed across the nation each day. We all have our preferred ways of drinking it – some more passionate than others – but we are undisputedly all united by our global identity as tea-drinkers. That’s one thing we all can agree upon! But where exactly did this affection begin and how did tea become the nation’s favourite drink?

Ugandan Coffee

Uganda is the eighth biggest producer of coffee in the world and exports 91% of the coffee it produces. Eighty percent of coffee grown in Uganda is Robusta coffee, with 20% being Arabica coffee, although this is slowly changing. Most of the coffee produced is exported to Europe, but a large quantity is allegedly smuggled across the eastern border to Kenya.

Brazilian Coffee

Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world, responsible for approximately a third of the world’s coffee. Over two thirds of Brazilian coffee beans are Arabica coffee beans with the remaining third being mostly Robusta.
