This tea is one of the most recognised flavoured teas in the world. The quintessentially British tea is Black China tea flavoured from oil of Bergamot, which is extracted from the rind of the small acidic Bergamot Orange. Earl Grey was Prime Minister to King William IV in the early 19th Century. It is said the Earl was given the recipe by a Chinese Mandarin whose life he had saved. This tea is light and smooth with a refreshing citrus flavour. It can be served with milk and/or sugar, but goes particularly well with lemon. Brew by adding boiling water to the loose tea leaves and infuse for 3 - 5 minutes.
