Large Leaf Darjeeling Loose Leaf Tea

A Tea Steeped in Himalayan Heritage

Our Large Leaf Darjeeling Loose Leaf Tea is grown on the Runglee Rungliot Tea Estate, nestled high in the foothills of the Himalayas. Meaning “thus far and no further” in local legend, Runglee Rungliot is one of the most celebrated tea gardens in the Darjeeling region, producing teas of remarkable purity, aroma, and elegance.

The story of Darjeeling tea begins in the 1840s, when the British established tea plantations in this cool, misty mountain region using tea seeds originally smuggled from China. Today, the area is revered for producing some of the finest teas in the world, often called the “Champagne of Teas” for their distinctive character and refined taste.

Every cup offers the signature muscatel flavour that has made Darjeeling famous — a perfect balance of fruitiness, floral perfume, and brisk finish. This tea is ideal for afternoon sipping, served black or with a splash of milk to highlight its elegant character.

At Penningtons Tea & Coffee, we are dedicated to sourcing from trusted, sustainable tea estates that uphold traditional growing and harvesting practices. Our Large Leaf Darjeeling Loose Leaf Tea is hand-picked and minimally processed to preserve the integrity of the leaf and its naturally complex flavour. Packaged in eco-friendly, recyclable bags, it stays fresh, aromatic, and flavourful from leaf to cup.
